Overview: Our latest meeting in Krakow
by Peter Breuhaus (NORCE), ELEXIA’s Coordinator
The fourth consortium meeting of ELEXIA was held in on 17th and 18th of April in Krakow (Poland). This lively two-day consortium meeting fostered an intersectional and cross-disciplinary dialogue, enabling a plan forward for the seamless integration of stakeholder engagement research with the planned digitalized energy system integration.
This in-person meeting focusing on discussing open questions and agreeing on next steps and further proceeding significantly more efficient than e-mails or web-meetings would have been. This was not at least as the exchange of information, thoughts and ideas was not only limited to the time of the formal meeting during coffee and lunch breaks the dinner and the tour though the city.
Diverse discussions ranged from “who decides what is comfortable?” to “how can we best meet the constantly evolving regulatory frameworks in the energy sector in the EU and locally?”
After the first phase of collecting information and preparing various elements the project is now aiming at testing the first components of the Energy Management System (EMS), the System Planning Toolbox (SPT) and the Data Model / Data Lake as well as start with preparing the pilot sites for implementation and demonstration.
To not only limit the benefits and results of ELEXIA to the partner and pilot sites ambitious plans were discussed to showcase the project output through virtual and tangible displays as well as local forums to answer the community’s questions about clean, secure, and competitive energy.
It was also great to see the interest of non-project members on a local and national level indicated by presentations from the polish minister, local authorities, business and academia.
The meeting was very success full and perfectly organized by the local partner AMC to successfully exchange information, ideas and knowledge and further contributing to the team spirit off all partners.
